Sleepover Salted Maple Baked Donuts

Crazy good, sweet and scrumptious, these Sleepover Salted Maple Baked Donuts are a soft cake baked version that’s both easy and delicious!

I sometimes wish I didn?t have a sweet tooth. I did say sometimes, didn?t I" I just fell in love with baking at a very early age, and I can?t get enough of it. I especially love donuts. There is a new donut shop that opened up near me, and I?m hoping they don?t call out my name when I walk in, asking if I want my usual. So, I thought I better take precautions and purchase something that I?ve wanted for a while. A donut pan! I figure I will be saving a lot of calories if I bake them at home. I know I?m reaching here, but, come on, work with me! Anyway, I also found this Salted Maple doughnut mix from Williams-Sonoma. I was very excited to try these acquisitions out, and I am not getting paid to say this.

I have to mention, that making your own donuts at home is a very fun weekend activity for parents and kids to do together. The kids help mix the batter, and they can definitely decorate their own donut with the different toppings. Try it for breakfast at your next birthday party sleepover. Have the donuts baking in the morning, and the kids can top them with the abundance of treats you lay out. You can have rainbow sprinkles, nuts, bacon bits, kosher salt, chocolate chips, coconut, whatever your little heart desires. It is a blast to see what kids come up with! And as for the taste of the donuts, I must say they are pretty yummy. It tastes like maple-flavored cake in a donut form. Plus they only take 10 minutes to bake, so it is even quicker than a trip to your local donut shop. These Sleepover Salted Maple Baked Donuts are a ton of fun for under $20.00, plus I figured my donut shop needed a break.
Sleepover Salted Maple Baked Donuts   Save Print Prep time 10 mins Cook time 10 mins Total time 20 mins   Author: Susan Recipe type: Breakfast Serves: 18 servings Ingredients 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly 2 eggs cup milk 1 packet doughnut mix (Williams-Sonoma Salted Maple) For the glaze: 1 packet glaze mix (included with mix) 2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons milk Instructions Preheat oven to 375 F. Lightly grease the wells of the donut pan. In a large bowl, stir together the butter, eggs and milk. Add the doughnut mix and stir until well combined. Place 2 tablespoons batter into each well of the pan and spread evenly with a small spatula. Bake until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted into a donut comes out clean, 10-12 minutes. Transfer the pan to a wire rack and let cool for 5 minutes, then invert the pan onto the rack and lift off the pan. Wipe the pan clean and repeat the process twice with the remaining batter. Place the glaze mix into a small bowl. Add the milk and stir until well combined. Let the donuts cool completely, and then dip them, top side down, into the glaze.
